好きな色
似顔絵を描いていて、 背景の色はお客さんに決めてもらう。 「好きな色はなんですか？」 そう聞くと、 迷わず答える人もいれば、 しばらく考えて「わからない」と言う人もいる。 年齢は関係ない。 好きな色―― それを形にしたものが、絵画なのかもしれない。 人生の時間は、限られている。 だからこそ、 一枚、自分の好きな色をキャンバスに。 その有限の時間を、惜しみなく使って。 “Favorite Color” When I draw portraits, I let the customer choose the background color. “What’s your favorite color?” I ask. Some answer without hesitation, while others think for a while and say, “I’m not sure.” It has nothing to do with age. A favorite color— perhaps a painting is what happens when that feeling takes form. Our time in life is limited. That’s why, on a single canvas, we should pour our favorite color, and use our finite time without holding back.
